TBL Big or small, let’s save them all】
In the television, news about animals being killed on the roads is constantly playing in a loop. With the progress of society and urban development, the habitats of wild animals are diminishing. As responsible global citizens, we have an obligation to conserve marine and terrestrial ecosystems. In this semester's fifth-grade English thematic course, foreign teacher Edmarie, along with teachers Lai Hui-ling, Lu Yi-mei, integrate the 14th and 15th goals of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into the English curriculum. They guide the entire fifth grade to understand which animals on Earth are facing extinction, how their habitats are being destroyed, and discuss ways to protect them. They explore how small actions in daily life can contribute to animal conservation and how individuals can influence others through their own efforts, putting in their share of effort for these animals. Finally, in the end of the semester, the students design promotional posters and materials advocating for animal protection, and they present speeches on animal conservation on stage.
